Other Announcements
Altar Flowers: Consider
the dates that you might like to provide the flowers in 2010. They can
be given in honor of a person or event, or in memory of a loved one.
The cost is $30 for two vases. Two families may split the cost for a
Sunday if they wish to do so. Families can also opt to use the
artificial arrangements and the flower offering will go in the current
fund.
Kroger Cards-- Please continue to use your Kroger cards for all Kroger purchases throughout the holiday season. Community rewards are tied to your customer (Kroger Plus) card. Almost all purchases earn rewards including out-of-pocket co-pays for prescriptions. If you are signed up, the bottom of your receipt will state, “At your request, Kroger is donating to St. Timothy Lutheran Church.” If you are not signed up, go to www.kroger.com (you will need to create an account &/or sign in) to register St. Timothy as your Community Rewards recipient. A form is also available that will allow you to register at the front desk in the store. (Rewards are not earned on the purchase of alcohol, tobacco, postage stamps, Kroger gift cards, bottle deposits, lottery tickets, fuel & fuel center purchases, office services (e.g., faxing), and sales tax.)
Coupon Books for Sale by
the Catechism class to raise funds for trips (e.g., Youth Quake), and
the annual retreat at Camp Otyokwa. They cost $20 and are loaded with
coupos for restaurants (dining & fast food), area attractions,
recreational activities and much more for Mansfield & Ashland area
locations. We will sell these until the end of January. Most coupons
are good until 12/31/2010.
Ministry leaders are needed to coordinate Community Outreach and the Communion Deacons.
Classrooms are in need of cleaning and renovation for children's ministry & other needs.
A Preschool/ Daycare Task Force is being formed to investigate the possibility of again providing a preschool or preschool/ daycare.
Crib Sheets Needed for the nursery. We need two set of new of gently used sheets. Recycle your aluminum cans and be a good steward of our environment. Drop off rinsed cans in front of the shed or in the marked bins in the kitchen. Spools of Thread Needed (especially white, but any color OK) for sewing bags for Lutheran World Relief school kits. Partial spools are welcome! This is an on-going Women's Ministry project. Food Pantry: The cupboards are almost bare!!! The food pantry urgently needs restocked. Especially needed are canned goods (meat, vegetables & fruit), boxed meals, peanut butter and cereal. You can also donate any items from your Angel Food order that you do not plan to use. Personal toiletry items are also needed (toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, etc.) Prayer Preparation-- Please sign up to spend 10 minutes in prayer prior to the beginning of each worship service. Two people will pray for our worship leaders, our worship time together and for the vision of our congregation's missions & ministry. NCOEA Snacks--The North Central Education Association meets monthly at our church. Volunteers are needed to provide sweet & salty snacks for their meetings. A sign-up sheet is located in the narthex. Altar Guild: Members are needed to serve on Altar Guild. This service opportunity involves preparing the sanctuary for worship services. Specific tasks may include setting up and cleaning up Holy Communion, straightening the pews, changing the sanctuary banners, preparing for other sacraments as they arise, and caring for altar linens. Call the church office for contact information and to learn how you can help!!
Scrub the Church Inside and Out: There are still several jobs left to do. The can be completed on your own time. See the sheet posted in the narthex for things that still need done. Be sure to sign for those things you will do or have done.
Family Mailboxes are now being used to facilitate communication! Please check you box frequently for important information.
Children's Ministry: Please pray for our Children's ministry so that we can provide the best opportunities for our young people as they learn about the word and works of our Lord. We are beginning a classes for pre-school and kindergarten children and those in grades 1- 5. The 6, 7 & 8 graders will attend catechism classes. The confirmed high school students participate in the Puppets of Praise (POPs).
Worship Leaders Needed: Sign-up sheets are posted in the Narthex for individuals and families to serve as altar guild, greeters, ushers and layreaders for both worship services.
Nursery Caregivers are needed for Sunday mornings . We currently have six teams of adults and youth, but could use more. Call the church office for contact information (419- 589- 5252).
Prayer Partners: In addition to our phone and e-mail prayer chains, we need to pray for the vision and ministries of our congregation. We need a coordinator and people to participate. If you are able to be a part of the important ministry, please speak with Pastor Bonnie or call the church office (419- 589- 5252).
